Ecommerce SEO Audit

An SEO Audit You Can
Price Before You Call

Three audits, from $450 to $1,500, with what each one covers and what it costs written on this page. If you go on to work with me, the audit is credited back in full and costs you nothing. If you do not, you keep the report and owe nothing further.

The Difference

Why the Price Is
On the Page

Most pages selling an SEO audit will not tell you what one costs until you have taken a call. That is a choice, and it is the reason so many people end up searching for the price instead of the service.

You can rule me out in a minute

If $450 is more than this is worth to you right now, you have found that out without a meeting and without a follow-up sequence. That is a better outcome for both of us than a call that was never going to close.

The audit is not the business

Monthly retainers are. These are priced to start a conversation with owners who cannot justify a three thousand dollar audit and would otherwise never get a real one. That is why the price is low and why it is credited back.

One person reads it, and that person writes it

There is no account manager between the work and you. The person who goes through your Search Console is the person who explains it on the call and the person who would run the work afterwards.

The Ladder

What Does an
SEO Audit Cost?

$450, $700 or $1,500, depending on how much of the picture you want and how much access you are able to give.

Every audit on this page is credited in full against your first month if you start a retainer within 30 days of the report being delivered. The audit is how we both find out whether there is enough here to work on together. If there is, the audit costs you nothing. If there is not, you keep the report and owe nothing further.

SURFACE — SEO Site Audit

$450 one time

For a site that has never had a proper audit. No account access needed, so it can be run before you share anything.

  • Technical crawl: indexation, site structure and crawl waste
  • On-page: titles, headings and internal linking
  • Core Web Vitals, taken from Google field data where it exists
  • Backlink profile and referring domains
  • Findings written in the order they are worth fixing
  • Up to 100 pages
  • 3 to 5 business days

CORE — SEO Account Audit

$700 one time

Everything in SURFACE, read against your own numbers instead of inferred from the outside.

  • Everything in SURFACE
  • Search Console: what you rank for, and where clicks are lost
  • Analytics: what visitors do once they arrive
  • Findings tied to your data rather than estimated
  • Requires read access to Search Console and Analytics
  • Up to 100 pages
  • 5 to 7 business days

Sites above these page counts are quoted separately.

Coverage

What the Audit
Actually Looks At

Every finding carries the number that proves it and the source it came from. Where something cannot be measured from the access available, the audit says so rather than estimating it.

The technical layer

Whether your pages can be found, crawled and indexed at all, and where crawl budget is going instead. On an ecommerce store this is usually the duplicate product URLs, the thin collection pages and the faceted navigation, which no generic SEO checklist covers.

What the pages say

Titles, headings, internal linking and whether the pages that sell are the ones receiving the links. Two failure modes get confused constantly: Google does not have your pages, or Google has them and prefers someone else. They need different fixes.

Speed, as your customers meet it

Core Web Vitals taken from Google field data where enough real traffic exists for it, rather than a single lab score. A lab number run once is not a measurement, and it is what most audits quote.

Who links to you

The referring domains, what they are worth, and which ones are doing nothing. Most small stores have a link profile that is either empty or full of things nobody chose, and the two call for opposite responses.

Your own numbers

Search Console shows what you already rank for and where clicks are being lost at positions you hold. Analytics shows what visitors do once they arrive. Without these, an audit is inferring from the outside, and it should tell you that.

The advertising

Google Ads and Meta Ads read the same way: structure, where budget goes, and whether the conversion tracking underneath the bidding is telling the truth. Three competitor teardowns sit alongside it.

Fit

Who This Is
And Is Not For

Buy something else if

  • You want someone to promise a position, which nobody can do honestly
  • You need the work done rather than diagnosed, in which case start with the retainer
  • Your site is a brochure with no commercial pages to rank
  • You have an audit from the last six months that you have not acted on yet
  • You want a tool report, which you can generate yourself for nothing

This is worth buying if

  • You sell direct to consumers, most often on Shopify
  • You have never had an audit, or the last one was a PDF nobody acted on
  • You suspect something is wrong but cannot name it
  • You want to judge how someone thinks before hiring them
  • You would rather read findings than sit through a pitch

After

You Read It, You Approve It,
Work Gets Started

The report is the deliverable, but it is not the point. The point is what gets done with it.

01

You read it

Findings in the order they are worth fixing, each with the number behind it. On SPECTRUM we go through every one of them together on a call, so the report is not something you read alone and interpret on your own.

02

You approve it

You decide what is worth doing and in what order. Some of it you may already have planned, some of it you may disagree with, and some will not be worth the effort on your site. That conversation is what the document is for.

03

Work gets started

Either I apply the changes myself on a monthly commitment, or you take the audit to your in-house team and they apply it. Both are fine. If you do start a retainer within 30 days of delivery, the audit comes off your first month in full.

Questions

Questions About
SEO Audits

If yours is not here, ask it on the call.

What does an ecommerce SEO audit cost?

$450 for SURFACE, $700 for CORE and $1,500 for SPECTRUM. The difference is how much access you give and how much of the marketing picture is covered. All three are credited in full against your first month if you start a retainer within 30 days of delivery.

What does a Shopify SEO audit look at that a general one does not?

The faults the platform creates for you. Shopify serves the same product on several URLs by default, collection pages are thin unless somebody wrote them, and faceted navigation generates crawlable combinations nobody intended. None of those appear on a generic SEO checklist, and on most stores they matter more than anything that does.

How long does an SEO audit take?

Three to five business days for SURFACE, five to seven for CORE, and seven to ten for SPECTRUM. CORE and SPECTRUM depend on account access arriving, so the clock starts when it does.

What is the difference between this and a free audit tool?

A tool returns everything it can detect, ranked by nothing. Most of what it lists does not matter on your site, and the things that do are not flagged as more important. What you are paying for here is the order of the list and the reasoning behind it, not the crawl.

Do you need access to my accounts?

Not for SURFACE, which is why it exists. CORE and SPECTRUM need read access to Search Console and Analytics, and SPECTRUM needs read access to Google Ads and Meta as well. Read access only, and it can be revoked the moment the audit is delivered.

What if my site is larger than the page limit?

SURFACE and CORE cover up to 100 pages and SPECTRUM up to 250. Larger stores are quoted separately rather than rushed, because the work genuinely scales with page count.

What happens if I do not want to continue afterwards?

You keep the report and owe nothing further. The audit is priced so that walking away is a fair outcome rather than a loss, which is the reason it is priced below what a full audit usually costs.

Will you guarantee a ranking or a traffic increase?

No, and you should be careful with anyone who does. An audit tells you what is wrong and what order to fix it in. What happens after that depends on what gets fixed, how competitive your category is, and how long the site has been around.
